Specifications

Compatibility and Usage

Connect one end to an HDMI source and the other to a compatible display or audio-video device. Select the corresponding HDMI input and check the source’s display settings. For equipment with several HDMI sockets, use the connection that supports the video or audio features required by your setup.

Resolution, refresh rate and audio features depend on the entire system. A cable does not make a lower-capability source or display support a new mode. Measure the intended route, including slack behind equipment, and avoid tight bends or pressure against connectors when positioning a television, monitor or receiver.

For a clean installation, keep enough access at both ends to remove the cable without moving every device. Route it away from pinch points and leave room for gentle curves near the plugs. Once connected, verify the chosen screen resolution and audio destination before returning the equipment to its final position.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the cable alone enable the highest video mode?

No. The source, display and any intermediate equipment must support that mode. Check each part of the signal path before selecting the intended resolution and refresh rate.

Should I test a long cable before routing it?

Yes. Connect the actual equipment and check the intended picture and sound settings first. This is particularly useful before placing the cable behind furniture or through a concealed route.

What should I check if there is no picture?

Confirm the correct HDMI input, firm connections and a supported output setting. Test the source and display directly where possible to identify which part of the setup needs attention.

Why should I check which HDMI socket I use?

Equipment can provide different capabilities on different HDMI ports. Check the source and display settings for the required mode, then use the appropriate sockets for the picture and audio features you intend to enable.
