Compatibility and Usage

Match the connector at each end to the charging source and the device before use. For charging, connect the cable firmly and let the device negotiate the supported power level. The cable rating describes its capability; it does not force that amount of power into a phone, tablet or computer.

When transferring files, use a data-capable port and enable any access permission requested by the connected device. Charging capability and data speed are separate considerations. Choose this cable around the functions stated above, and check the connected equipment before relying on a particular transfer rate or display mode.

For a desk or bedside arrangement, plan the cable route before connecting the equipment. Keep a small amount of slack near each port and move the cable clear of chair wheels, drawers and sharp edges. This makes everyday connection and removal easier without using the plug as a handle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will every device charge at the maximum rating?

No. Actual charging depends on the power source, supported charging profile, cable and device. Battery level and temperature can also change the rate during a charging session.

How should I choose a cable for my setup?

Start with the connector types, then compare the stated power and data capabilities with your equipment. Leave enough reach for comfortable placement without pulling the device towards its charger.

How should I store the cable?

Disconnect by holding the connector, then coil the lead loosely. Avoid tight folds at the plug and keep the connector ends clean so they seat properly when used again.

Can I choose a cable by wattage alone?

No. First match the connectors, then check charging and data requirements separately. A high power rating is useful for charging, but it does not establish every other connection function that your equipment may need.
